History

  • In 1990 is established RELAR based on Law no. 21/1924 regarding the associations and foundations, published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I, no. 27 of February 6, 1924.
  • In April 1992, within the Romanian Standardization Institute has been established IRS - DCANOC - Accreditation of Certification, Notification of Bodies and Quality Direction, which started to develop accreditation activities.
  • In 1993 RELAR association turns into RELAR - Testing Laboratory Accreditation Body and started to perform accreditation activities in 1995.
  • In September 1996 RELAR became full member of ILAC-International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation and founder member of ILAC MoU.
  • On January 30, 1998 was issued the Government Ordinance no. 38/1998 regarding accreditation and conformity assessment infrastructure.
  • On July 6, 1998 following the Government Ordinance no. 38 of 30 January 1998, the General Constitution Assembly decided the fusion of the two accreditation bodies RELAR and IRS-DCANOC, existing at that time, into a single national accreditation body under the name of RENAR.
  • In November 1999 RENAR became member of EA - European Cooperation for Accreditation.
  • In 2000 the Law no. 21/1924 regarding the associations and foundations is replaced by the Government Ordinance no. 26/2000.

Istoric RENAR

In 2002 the Government Ordinance no. 38/1998 is approved by the Law no. 245/2002 regarding accreditation and conformity assessment infrastructure.
In 2002 the Minister of Industry and Resources issued Order no. 317/2002 for approving the frame statute of the National Accreditation Body.
In November 2002 RENAR became member of IAF - International Accreditation Forum.
On June 12, 2003 the Minister of Industry and Resources issued the Order no. 354 regarding the recognition of Romanian Accreditation Association - RENAR as National Accreditation Body.

  • In 2004 the Government Ordinance no. 38/1998 is modified and completed by the Government Ordinance no. 3 regarding the accreditation of laboratories and of conformity assessment bodies which is approved with amendments by the Law no. 246/2004.
  • In 2008 was issued the Regulation (EC) no. 765/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products and repealing Regulation (EEC) no. 339/93.
  • In 2009 was issued the Government Ordinance no. 23/2009 on the accreditation activity of the conformity assessment bodies. This Ordinance repealed the Government Decision no. 38/1998. 
  • In 2010 was issued the Government Ordinance no. 20/2010 on the establishment of measures for the uniform application of European Union legislation harmonizing the conditions for product marketing.
