According to G11: 07/2006 ILAC Guidelines on Qualifications and Competence of Assessor and Tehnical Experts, technical expert is a person designated by the accreditation body to provide specific knowledge or expertise on the field of accreditation to be assessed, is a member of the team providing technical advice, but is not considered an assessor unless he or she has qualifications and relevant training to be evaluated.

RENAR has the right to request objective proves regarding the technical competence, recommendations from organizations, copies of documents attesting the competence.
